Today we were out on the pitch early observing the training styles of Hope and her assistant coach Brett.
After a quick lunch, during which Hannah and I worked on the questions which we were going to ask Faye and Katie, we went back to watch the afternoon training session.
We were told at the end of the training session that Faye wanted to go in to the gym when she got back to the hotel and would we mind doing the interview at the training ground.
Although we were both surprised, I felt prepared as I had done my research. Being ready for the unexpected is all part of being a sports journalist.
After a great interview with Faye, Hannah and I, aided by Annie, made the quick trek up to the England team’s hotel to interview Katie Chapman.
When we arrived, Katie was completing her cool down in the cold pool outside. After interviewing Katie about her time in America, we made our way back home, before returning to the team hotel later on in the evening for dinner, and a chance to chat with the coaches.
