#TeamUEL continues to dominate

#TeamUEL Athletes have been writing headline after headline in recent weeks with a number of impressive performances and achievements.

To start with our Weightlifter, Mercy Brown, returned from the European Senior Champs with two Bronze medals scoring a total of 230KG. Mercy lifted 103KG in the Snatch and 127KG in the Jerk to claim third place.

Football Scholar, Lilli-Victoria Maple, continues to impress on the national team stage with yet another call-up to the England u20 squad. Lilli will be hoping for more good performances to establish herself as a star player in the squad.

Onto the Judo world, where Scholars Julia Scardone and Emmanuel Nartey have been putting in strong performances across the board. Julia has been selected to represent GB in the upcoming Commonwealth Champs in South Africa and the EUSA Champs later in the year. On the other hand, Emmanuel, was also selected for the Commonwealth Judo Champs where he will be representing Ghana.

Over in the pool, Swimming Scholar, Michael Gunning, finished in 5th place at the British Champs last week which has resulted in selection for the upcoming EUSA Champs.

Last but not least, our Tennis programme continues to dominate with the Men’s 1st team clinching promotion to the BUCS Premier South having previously won the BUCS National Trophy.
